7:14 am: Sunrise. The start to a day where my sole intent is to observe and contemplate the sun from the point where rose-colored light now signals its position behind the clouds to where it will dive behind the southwestern horizon after a low arc across the sky. The morning light seems both as distant as the center of the solar system and as near as the blades of grass casting soft shadows on frost covered ground.
